Like so many other companies and organizations, we've spent the last two weeks watching, listening, and reflecting on the state of our city and our country, and our place in all of it. The mission of our store has always been to be a bridge and connection point between world artisans and our customers, a place where "the creativity of human mind, spirit, and experience is celebrated every day."
As you are "sheltering at home" are you getting bored? Cleaning closets? Then, please, PLEASE, PLEASE think about holding onto the best spring and summer items for our annual "Flipping Favorites" clothing drive for Rose Brooks Center, our local domestic violence shelter.
By 8:00 on Thursday evening, May 9, we were exhausted but celebrating and smiling broadly. We had just finished our 14th annual Fabulous Flipping Favorites clothing buying party and raised over $6,300 in 3 hours for our “sisters” starting a new life away from domestic violence. The following day we also sent over 1,000 clothing items on rolling racks plus many boxes of carefully folded clothes to Rose Brooks Center.
