“Share Warmth” Coat and Sweater Drive October 11 through November 14 in Brookside
Benefit for the women and children in shelter at Rose Brooks Center
So what’s happening? Our 10th annual coat and sweater drive to share warmth with women and children at Rose Brooks Center
By 8:00 on Thursday evening, May 9, we were exhausted but celebrating and smiling broadly. We had just finished our 14th annual Fabulous Flipping Favorites clothing buying party and raised over $6,300 in 3 hours for our “sisters” starting a new life away from domestic violence. The following day we also sent over 1,000 clothing items on rolling racks plus many boxes of carefully folded clothes to Rose Brooks Center.
Take A Stand against domestic violence by sharing warmth with women and children in shelter at Rose Brooks Center
As the weather gets cooler, perhaps with some frost on the ground, we start pulling out sweaters and jackets and coats to keep us warm throughout the winter. For many, home is a place of love, warmth and comfort. But for millions of women and children, home is any but that. Every 9 seconds, a woman in the U.S. is beaten or assaulted by a current or ex-significant other.
A giant shout-out to all who attended and helped raise over $6,000 for Rose Brooks Center at our Fab 50's Flipping Favorites shopping benefit. YOU are awesome! You make this event possible - your donations AND your shopping. It was 50's fab all around - we loved dressing up, your wore your sock-hop socks, you ate pigs-in-a-blanket. You shopped and shopped.
