As you are "sheltering at home" are you getting bored? Cleaning closets? Then, please, PLEASE, PLEASE think about holding onto the best spring and summer items for our annual "Flipping Favorites" clothing drive for Rose Brooks Center, our local domestic violence shelter.
We know the need is and will continue to be high and we'll figure out the safe, correct time to gather clothes. And a celebration of your generosity. For now, just save your donations. More formal business/office wear items are not really needed, but wonderful gently-used casual clothing is always welcome.
From Rose Brooks: "At this time we are reducing risks to those at Rose Brooks by temporarily suspending drop off and pick-up of food and in-kind donations. **We do thank you for always thinking of us... we are so grateful**
And this: "A reminder from Rose Brooks Center to make sure you are staying in contact with your friends and family any way you can. Isolation can be a dangerous time for victims living with an abuser. Hearing from you can provide hope. And a reminder to everyone, Rose Brooks is here. We are still here. Our hotline is 816-861-6100."
Our love goes out to the wonderful staff at Rose Brooks caring for those in crisis AND our hearts go out to any and all who are experiencing abuse and danger in their lives, including teens who experience digital abuse. Be safe. Be well.
