Why? To re-stock warm, cozy clothing supplies for Rose Brooks Center, our local domestic violence shelter

Coat and Sweater Drive for Rose Brooks Center Starts October 11. Share warmth with women and children in shelter escaping domestic violence

As the weather gets cooler, perhaps with some frost on the ground, we start pulling out sweaters and jackets and coats to keep us warm throughout the winter. We heat our homes, wrap in comforters and “nest” for the winter. For many, home is a place of love, warmth and comfort. But for millions of women and children, home is any but that. Every 9 seconds, a woman in the U.S. is beaten or assaulted by a current or ex-significant other.

At Rose Brooks Center, the women and children who arrive for shelter from domestic violence often come without coats and many times without any additional clothing besides what they are wearing. Donations of coats and sweaters help share warmth and #takeastand against domestic violence.

New and gently-used warm, winter coats and sweaters for both women and children are needed and can be dropped off at World’s Window during our annual Coat and Sweater Drive, starting Friday, October 11th through November 14, 2019.

In exchange for coat or sweater donations, the generous donors receive a 20% off coupon that can be used any day through November 14, 2019, especially during the Holiday Season Opener party on Thursday, November 14, from 5 - 8 p.m. There's no limit to the number of coats and sweaters a customer can donate. However, World's Window asks that every item donated be new or gently-worn and clean so that they can be used right away.
