PAULA WINCHESTER SILK SCARVES FEATURED APRIL 30 - MAY 2

In a special 3-day showing, Paul Winchester's silk charmeuse scarves based on her original pastel paintings will be featured in our store.
Over a year ago, Paula Winchester’s sister Rebecca suggested that she print her pastel designs on silk scarves. While pondering the idea, Paula happened to meet Harshita, a fabric and clothing designer on the east coast and discovered her company could do the printing! She then asked 15 of her friends to come look at all her pastel designs and to select 4 that they would love to wear. These were tabulated, and the winners were transformed into scarves with the help of a friend’s graphic design work. The silk charmeuse scarves (80" x 15") are now printed with 8 of Paula's pastel drawings. This is a limited run of 60 scarves/15 per design. Each scarf retails for $150 and wonderfully soft and glorious to see and wear.
See some of the scarves on our World's Window Face Book page. Paula will be in our store from 5 - 9 Friday, and 12 - 5 on Saturday and Sunday, April 30 - May 2.

It's time to spring clean your closets again for Rose Brooks. We're looking for excellent-quality clothing previously purchased at World's Window or gently used business-casual clothing appropriate for job interviews. Tower Cleaners is once again partnering with us by donating cleaning of some items needing extra attention. But really, ladies, we ask that all clothing come to us clean, clean, clean so they are ready for use.
Once again, to help Rose Brooks raise some extra funds, we're throwing our Ultimate Clothing Exchange Party on May 6th. It's like shopping the best of garage sales. Or digging through your girlfriends' closets. Mark your calendars for a fun evening. All funds raised will go directly to Rose Brooks and all remaining clothing items will then be donated to Rosie's Closet. Two great ways to support Rose Brooks Center and help break the cycle of domestic violence!

I begged. I complained. I begged some more. The result? We just received over 80 specially-ordered boxy crop tees - the original Earth Creations short-sleeved, organic hemp/cotton tee they started with. It's the favorite with our missy customers. “SHARE THE LOVE” MID-WINTER COAT COLLECTION HELPS WARM UP WOMEN AND CHILDREN AT ROSE BROOKS CENTER

The holiday “warmth” drives are over, but the needs continue. New women and children arrive at Rose Brooks Center each day to escape domestic violence and start anew. Warm, winter coats for both women and children are needed and can be dropped off at World’s Window in Brookside during their “Share The Love” coat donation drive January 29th - February 13th.
The weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day are usually promoted with images of flowers, candy, candlelight and love. For many women, their daily experiences are filled with fear and injury rather than expressions of love. The staff at World’s Window is wrapping some warmth - literally and figuratively - around the women and children at Rose Brooks Center with donations of winter coats.
Buerge is delighted to partner again with Rose Brooks as the recipient of the coat donations because of their mission to break the cycle of domestic violence so that individuals and families can live free of abuse. Tower Cleaners has also joined the project to provide cleaning for the few coats that might need a bit of touch-up. “This project continues to be a perfect fit for our store and our customers. At World’s Window our mission is to celebrate the creativity of the human mind, spirit and experience and our customers love the idea of helping others. It’s an added bonus that they get a discount towards something new and exciting for Spring,” says Buerge.
In exchange for each coat donation, World’s Window customers will receive a 20% coupon towards new purchases, and there's no limit to the number of coats a customer can donate. The more they bring, the more coupons they receive. However, Buerge asks that every coat donated be new or in clean, excellent condition so that they can be used right away.
