Our World's Window continuing year-long thirtieth anniversary has celebrated that "The Joy is in The Journey." Of course there are and have been many, many kinds of journeys in the life of our store experience. Not all journeys come full circle, but these three do.
It's that time of year again. As the weather gets cooler, perhaps with some frost on the ground, we start pulling out sweaters and jackets and coats to keep us warm throughout the winter. At Rose Brooks Center, the women and children that arrive for shelter from domestic violence often come without coats and many times without any additional clothing besides what they are wearing.
In late June we finally got to host the very special private shopping spree party for Sally Daily. Sally was our winner from our April 30th Anniversary give-way. But when Sally decided to share her winnings with her daughters and daughters-in-law, it took a little longer to plan an evening party that could include everyone. In the end, one family member couldn't make it, but all of the rest of us had a fabulously fun evening. Congratulations again to our winner, Sally Daily. Thank you for sharing your family with us!
Traveling this summer? Want to travel light? How many outfits can you make out of 6 clothing items (plus a scarf, a belt and several pieces of jewelry) that will take you from the warmest weather to chilly evenings? At World's Window we sent Lanie and Della on an initial hunt for 4 different tops, a skirt and fun crop pants - all varied in colors and patterns. Then came the fun as they mixed and matched all those items and came up with tons of options mixing and matching the various items.
Party like it's 1984. Champagne, sangria and other munchies; fabulous jazz; wonderful Rose Brooks volunteers and 80's-decked-out World's Window staff party-ready for all our amazing shoppers. From armfuls of clothing to our mass dressing room where swapping fashions happened all evening, it was a rollicking good time for a great cause. And with enthusiastic participation from all who attended, we raised over $2700 for Rose Brooks!
